These businesses engaged in economic activities, including non-profit institutions,\ncutting across all sectors of the economy. Each production unit within a particular business will be\ncaptured as a separate entity if it is or has a legal unit:\nA legal unit is a unit that has legal personality, i.e. the law attributes rights and obligations to it, in\nthe sense that it has:\n1. Right of ownership, permitting it to hold assets in its own name;\n2. Right to engage in activities in its own name and on its own behalf;\n3. Right to conclude contracts with third parties;\n4. Right to institute legal proceedings, i.e. to defend its interests; and\n5. Right to dispose of its assets and resources\nThe 2023 IBES captured business establishments operating from:\n6. Residential building\n7. Non-residential buildings with an enclosure;\n8. Non-residential building without enclosure, such as sheds;\n9. Temporal fixed locations but in structures.\n10. In addition to establishments, the 2023 IBES I covered:\na) Open spaces but are in fixed locations;\nb) Vehicles, hawkers etc. (Mobile businesses);"},"method":{"data_collection":{"coll_mode":["CAPI"]}}},"schematype":"survey"}
